About Us

Before the beginning of BBT, founder Timothy T. Burnette Jr. was himself a student of the best coaches and professional examples. For example, Coach Mike Wacker, a University of Texas star and Coach of Judson High School, was instrumental in the development of the method for teaching shooting skills. Coach Jerry Wainwright, Assistant Coach at Fresno State University, contributed to the focus on repetitive drills in dribbling ball handling and offensive moves. Coach Lonn Reisman, Athletics Director/Head Men's Basketball Coach of Tarleton St. University, provided the knowledge of defense and conditioning. These great coaches made it easy to see basketball is one of the most demanding of all sports. They all believe basketball is a game of quickness: fast starts, sharp cuts and turns, acceleration and deceleration, and jumping. Their knowledge instructed the methods of BBT’s training regiment on conditioning, skills, drills, and fundamentals.

Conversing and working with top professional, college, and high school coaches and trainers led to the understanding that  players and experienced professionals alike need continual focus on the basic fundamentals of the game. The knowledge gathered over 15 years has helped BBT to design programs that stimulate and motivate players to learn.
